Previous Gameweek – Summary
Having been quite unhappy with the season so far, I activated my wildcard just hours before Gameweek 4. With my eyes on trying to claw back from the gutter, I brought in the likes of Sergio Aguero, Kevin de Bruyne (at the expense of Raheem Sterling), Sebastien Haller and Trent Alexander Arnold, who repaid my faith with 64 points out of my gameweek total of 89 (Aguero captain).
With a GW rank of 93k, my team went up almost a million places and now sits at 89k. I’ll take that.
Current Gameweek – The Team
Fresh off the wildcard, I decided to save my transfer for next week. With the defensive backline of Norwich all but decimated, I will gladly turn to my Manchester City trio to lead the line (Sergio Aguero captain again), despite concerns that some of them might be rested. True, but then again if they play, they are sure to exploit the leaky Norwich defence. So both Kevin de Bruyne and Oleksandr Zinchenko start.
Not sure if Liverpool will have a walk in the park against Newcastle, but I am counting on both Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander Arnold to bring home the bacon…errrr, points.
I am hoping that when my two differentials, Sebastien Haller and John McGinn, face off against each other, deliver at least some attacking returns. The underlying stats suggest they could.
So how does the team look like? Look no further!
P.S. Unfortunately, this will be my last post for the FPL Connect blog. While I wanted to document my journey this year, it soon became increasingly obvious that with the work and everything, it will simply not be possible.
I would like to thank FPL Connect for giving me this opportunity and feel happy that I will be able to pass the baton to an amazing FPL player, whose journey should be a blast to follow!
Wish you all the best in your FPL quest this year and good luck!
