Player to Buy – Dean Henderson (£5.1)
Dean Henderson is making his mark as the best goalkeeper in England. His statistics show that he is, arguably, the best GK to have in FPL right now.
His stats are as follows –
- 1st in FPL points for goalkeepers – 111 points
- Tied for 1st with 9 clean sheets
- Conceded the least amount of goals among starting goalies who have played majority of the season
- Tied for 3rd in Bonus Points among all GK’s in FPL
His form has been outstanding over the last 2 GW’s totaling 21 points against Man City and Crystal Palace. Sheffield United as a team are very strong defensively, which makes Henderson even more attractive.
Sheffield have allowed a total of 23 goals all season, good enough for 2nd fewest in the league and only bested by Liverpool who have conceded 15.
The next couple games are equally appealing and would suggest possible cleans for the Englishman.
My suggestion is to buy Henderson if you are struggling in the GK position. Sometimes using a transfer for a keeper is a “waste” of a transfer, but in this case I don’t believe that to be a fact.
Honorable mentions – Harvey Barnes (£5.9)
Player to Sell – John Lundstram (£5.1)
We were all part of the bandwagon at some point or another. We all felt the excitement of finding a £4.0 defender playing out of position and far enough forward to potentially score some goals or provide an assist.
Many of us had him from GW1 and watched his value rise high enough to make us believe that it will never end. Alas, all good things must come to an end…
John Lundstram’s time as a starter for Sheffield United looks to be over. The last 2 weeks have seen Lundstram come off the bench for Muhamed Besic and, newcomer, Sander Berge, totalling 34 minutes in the last 2 EPL games.
Sander Berge looks to have taken Lundstram’s position after making the transfer over from Genk in Belgium.
My suggestion would be to let go of Lundstram before he starts dropping in value, which has already begun. It was fun while it lasted!
Dishonorable mentions – Çaglar Söyüncü (£5.0)
Player to Hold – Danny Ings (£7.1)
Danny Ings has been a terror for EPL teams all season. It’s no secret that most FPL managers that were able to jump on early have benefited immensely from the goals he’s scored and his increase in FPL value since the scoring run began.
The last 3 weeks Ings has been off the score sheet and totaled only 5 FPL points, which is causing concern and begging the question – Is Danny Ings still a vital asset or is his time to ship him off? The easy answer is NO.
Managers should hold and keep the Saints player for the rest of the year, barring injury. His value has shot up from £6.0 to £7.0, which is important for team value when you decide to hit the wildcard chip.
From now until April the fixtures look fantastic. See below –
My suggestion is to keep the striker for the remainder of the year. He looks healthy and hungry. As long as the Saints keep the momentum going, look for Ings to keep the goals coming.
